There is Beauty Underneath the Rubble of the Struggle
I’ve been thinking…
There have been so many different challenges and hardships throughout this pandemic palooza.
Some of you just can’t catch a break and are on the receiving end of what seems like one blow after another.
Many of you have experienced challenges, hardship, disappointment, yet you are pushing through and doing the do.
And then there are those of you who have been inconvenienced by the shutdowns, low supplies, mandates, and schedule shifts, but haven’t had to weather any real consequences of this COVID crap.
Regardless, we have all been “exposed” to this ornery virus whether it be physical, emotional, mental, or financial.
Nothing is as it “used to be” for any of us.
The many changes, adaptations, and consistent uncertainties of how we do life now has forced us into a mode of flexibility that is stretching us all… far beyond the damage this middle age body can do to a pair of leggings.
Sweet friend, however you and your family have been personally affected by the turmoil of 2020, I know this to be true:
There is always beauty to be found underneath the rubble.
Sometimes you have to look for it… I’m talking “look for it” much harder than your kiddo looks for their missing whatever.
Life lessons… Those suckers can be H.A.R.D – hard. Yet so much good can come out of the struggle.
Since I’ve had some extra “thinking time,” (now I know how my kids felt during a toddler time out), I’ve been intentional to consider the beautiful things that are waiting to be discovered underneath the rubble of the struggle.
Yes, it’s highly likely that things will never be the same. In fact, you might never be the same. But sister, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, right?
I want to help you dig through the wreckage from the past six months and uncover your diamonds in the rough.
And if you’re willing, I would love for you to share your discoveries with me.
Few things bring me greater joy than having a front-row seat to witness the journey of other women.
I love seeing you arrive at that sweet spot you were created for… it is sweet, sweet goodness to my soul.
I’m not gonna lie. This exercise will take a little effort on your part if you really want to get anything out of it. So, find a pen and a piece of paper and let’s start diggin’.
The first thing I want you to do is…
Make a list of the challenges you and your family have experienced.
Remember, a challenge is a challenge… big or small. It doesn’t matter whether it was a challenge for others. I want you to think about the challenges your family faced.
Next…
Describe how you dealt with each specific challenge, regardless of your victory status.
… it’s about the process, not the result.
Then…
Is there a specific scenario(s) to which you wish you had another opportunity to respond? If so, briefly describe what happened and how your response would be different.
Finally…
Have your personal values changed? If so, explain how that will affect your future decisions regarding family, work, finances, priorities, school, schedule, etc.
And a bonus…
What have you learned about yourself?
Oh, I can hardly wait to read your responses and learn about the treasures you discovered beneath the junk.
We can schedule a one-on-one chat about your revelations or you can email me. Consider this a personal invitation to my inbox. I can hardly wait to hear from you.
Speaking of inbox invitations, I would love an invitation to yours. I never show up uninvited and I don’t bring extra guests. I’ll just be your Tuesday morning reminder that life is good… and so are you.
